Roof soffit overhangs over neighbours garden | |
Building Regs Question:
My builder is replacing my rear 2 storey, wing roof, which protrudes into my garden, in a terraced street of gardens. Therefore, the replacement roof overhangs over the neighbours garden land by about 1ft for the Soffitt, about 12ft up from their grass. They are complaining that the 1ft soffitt overhangs their land, and it didn't previously, and they think I should not be doing this.
The wing and its roof, does not connect to their building attall, only mine, and it lies about 10 ft away from their kitchen window, leaving as much of a light presence as there was before.
Are they correct, or is there some allowance for roof structure to be designed competantly to comply with modern standards, matching those around.
My wing is listed.
