upvc fitted without felt overlapping into gutter. Current workmen recommend felt support trays. Is this necessary, will moisture track back up tiles and rot end of beams?

you only need eave felt support trays if your using a breather membrane instead of roofing felt, main reason is breather membrane is not uv stable and rots in sunlight. a good solution is to use a a 1f quarter roll of felt.cheaper and quicker. you'll get some moisture problems if your membrane is sagging and touching any insulation. good luck
